- Doctoral programs represent the highest level of formal education, which emphasizes on independent research in a specific field, in collaboration with an experienced supervisor and under the guidance of a board which is responsible for running the PhD program.
- Doctoral programs prepare students for a career in research and/or highly qualified work in a number of professions. They are integrated with high quality research activities.
- The overall activities of the Doctoral Schools are coordinated by The Council for University Doctoral Studies (CUDS), that also guides the activity of our Doctoral School Councils (DSC).
You can be admitted in a PhD Program at Doctoral School of Computer Science if:
- you submit the admission files and pay for your tuition fee (own funds, approximately 3600 euro/year)
- you obtain a scholarship (Scholarships offered by the Romanian State to foreign citizens through the MFA)
- enroll as a Romanian from abroad (you have to prove that you have Romanian origins)

PhD students at the Doctoral School of Computer Science can benefit from scholarships for their doctoral activity from either the Ministry of National Education or "Alexandru Ioan Cuza" University from Iasi.
Scholarships awarded by the Ministry of National Education
- According to the Order no. 6452/2022, doctoral scholarships are granted for doctoral students enrolled in doctoral studies financed from the state budget with a scholarship, to the form of full-time education.
- Scholarships offered by the Romanian State to foreign citizens through the MFA
- The doctoral scholarship is awarded for the entire period of doctoral research.
- The amount allocated is differentiated according to the years of study, as well as the allocated budget, but also to the legislative changes.
Scholarships awarded by the "Alexandru Ioan Cuza" University of Iasi
- PhD students at the Doctoral School of Computer Science can benefit from a scholarship granted by the "Alexandru Ioan Cuza" University from Iași throughout the research studies, in compliance with the aspects provided in the study contract.
"Eugen Ionescu" Doctoral and Postdoctoral Research Scholarships
- The Francophone University Agency (AUF) has launched the call for applications for the 2022-2023 "Eugen Ionescu" doctoral and post-doctoral research scholarship program. This program is addressed to researchers from OIF member countries and Algeria, who study / work in AUF member universities and are interested in carrying out a 3-month research internship in one of the 33 universities in Romania involved in this program.
- The call is open until November 20, 2022.
- The internships of admitted candidates will take place between May 1 and July 31, 2023.

Located close to important academic objectives and student campuses, it offers students from abroad special accommodation conditions in rooms with 2 and 3 places.
Places are fully furnished and equipped with a refrigerator. Each room has a private bathroom and access to Internet is also made available (students will need an Internet cable in order to make the connection).
On each floor there is a kitchen equipped with gas-stoves and ovens. All common and dwelling areas have been restructured and optimized for the benefit of our students. The building also features elevators.

Libraries
"Alexandru Ioan Cuza" University of Iasi offers its students access to the services offered by the "Mihai Eminescu" Central University Library, but also to the branch libraries within the University's Faculties based on an entry permit which is free. The issuance of permits and visas is done at the Permits Office (str. Păcurari, no. 4, ground floor) and at the Library of Physics and Chemistry "Ștefan Procopiu" (UAIC, building A, ground floor, B-dul Carol I, no. 11).
